The Status of my License

I made a decision last night. My foster care license expires sometime in September (ish). Odessa ought to have moved to some other situation by then, and I want to buy a house. I can't buy a house where I am now because I can't afford the houses in neighborhoods that are in walking distance to synagogues. I've done a grand total of 4 hours of my mandatory 30 hours of training. So I am going to let my license lapse, work on moving, work on my mental health and attachment issues, and then get licensed in a new state after I'm settled in my new home. I'm still here. Just announcing my intentions to the world. :-)

  1. I'm glad you have a plan!!

Have you considered blogging about your attachment issues? I'm sure it would feel invasive, but you might be able to get some good insights that way.

  2. I'd also like to hear what you have to say, especially in relation to caring for other's kids

  3. Good for you! I think one or a couple of foster kids is definitely the max for most of us mortals. ;) You've graduated!

  4. ohh a plan is always good. Move north, way north, there are good synagogues and housing is cheaper, Montreal... Toronto... I am sure that you could get citzenship and then you would be closer and you know that would totally be a reason to move to another country, because you know this blogger who said it would be a good idea.

  5. Don't think that Canada hasn't crossed my mind in the past! But with the Canadian government taking clues from the US government (what's up with that?!) there doesn't seem to be much point. (I mean, other than cool people.)

  6. We're about to pack it in because of a move also. A time and a season for everything.
