Manners

Perhaps I should have known this before turning 33, but when someone says "excuse me" following a burp or fart, is there a polite response? You're excused? Thank you? Sabrina is usually pretty good about saying "excuse me" and I want to give positive feedback--so I need something to say.

Thanks!

  1. I think you are supposed to say, "you are excused."

At our house, manners are in short supply, so the usual response to a belch or a fart followed by "excuse me" is titters of laughter and someone groaning, "oh gross!"

  2. Same thing here: after someone says "Excuse me", the giggling just gets louder.

But you asked for a grown-up response...we usually roll our eyes and bury our heads in our hands.
